DID MY RESEARCH

I had done my research, I knew just about everything there was to know about the lasik procedure. I know that the cornea is cut and a flap folded down, and that portions of the eyes are cut away with a laser before the flap is replaced, which permanently changes the shape of the cornea altering the vision in that eye. All I have to do now is find a place that does lasik in Missouri that I feel comfortable going to. I’m not as scared of the procedure as most people probably are, but I want the doctor I choose to be one that I trust. I went on the Lasik Eye Surgery website, which gives a nationwide directory of doctors that perform the procedure. There are close to forty doctors in and around St. Louis alone and so far I’ve scheduled consultation appointments with ten of them. From the individual practices’ web pages, it seems that each and every one of the is the absolute best at what they do, but I won’t personally be convinced until I’ve met them face to face and seen each of their offices. I’d like to hear from each of them what technology they are using and what I can expect from the experience of dealing with them. Going through this procedure isn’t like buying a car, I can’t test drive my eyes to see how I like them, once this is done – it’s done, I want to be very sure that I’m choosing the right doctor.
