After all that research I did on Lasik surgery, I have almost completed turned back from the idea of trying to dispose of my eyeglasses by way of having the surgery. There was so much to learn about the before, the during and the after phases of having this procedure. First, if you just picked a surgeon out of the yellow pages without checking him or her out, you don’t know what you might end of getting. I am glad I did some research, so at the very least I know how to go about picking a surgeon to perform the Lasik eye surgery I have been checking up on. I would want someone that has had at least a thousand surgeries under his belt, maybe more if I can find him. He would have to not have been in any legal trouble from performing these surgeries. I would check out their credentials by calling any of the state or national ophthalmic associations or by contacting the American Board of Ophthalmology or the Association of State Medical Board Executive Directors. But for me, there is a big issue of going through all these things for Lasik, then still needing to wear glasses.
