When I was looking for a home security system, I was shown many different options with many different features. I ultimately chose to go with a wireless alarm system over a more traditional hard wired alarm system because of a few of the wireless alarm benefits simply couldn’t be matched by a hard wired system. Firstly, and in my opinion, most importantly – the wireless system that I chose has cellular notification to the monitoring station – that means that even if a burglar cuts the phone lines, the police will still be notified. Many hard wired alarm systems work through land phone lines and would be rendered useless if the lines were cut or if a long power outage occurred. Secondly, the cost of the installation of the wireless system was next to nothing when compared to the hard wired system because there is so much less labor involved. That being said, I’d pay whatever amount of money it took to ensure the safety of my family, but if I can get a better, more reliable product and pay less for it, than I’m going to. Just because something costs more money, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s better, and when considering a security system the best product should be purchased, not the most expensive or the most popular.
